Your Web Address or Domain Name ... |
If you do not already have a web site you need to give some thought as to what name you would like to register on the internet as your web address i.e. Ahead Web Design is registered as www.aheadwebdesign.co.uk . This obviously is usually your trading name followed by an extension of .co.uk or .com or .net etc. although the availability of your chosen name can be an issue as there are now so many business's online.
It is worth noting at this point that it is beneficial to your search engine rankings if the search term people are most likely to use to find your goods or services is also used in your domain name. (Search Engine Ranking is the term used to describe the way in which your site address is returned as a result from a search engine query entered by a user, it is obviously beneficial to be on page one or two rather than page one hundred where people will not browse that far, which is where Search Engine Optimisation comes into effect)

What images do you wish to use ... |
• Images are an extremely important part of your site and put the finishing touches on your pages, they are very powerful in making your site look professional and well presented.
Any images such as company logo's and photographs that you have in any format can be used.
i.e.
Photographs in the form of prints and negatives, or in the form of any digital formats such as JPEG, Gif or TIFF etc.
or
Graphical logo's which can be scanned for use on your site to maintain the corporate look of your business.

Think about the content on your web pages ... |
• Information about your Products or Services, which is probably the main reason for your site.
• Address ?
Not all sites choose to list their physical address, but obviously this could depend on the type of business you have. If you are an e-commerce site then user confidence to purchase from you is greater if an address is listed, whilst more obviously if you want people to visit you, such as in the case of a shop then an address is a necessity.
• Location Map, to help customers find you.
• Opening Times / Office Hours.
• Telephone Number / Fax Number / Mobile Number / e-mail address and Contact Names.
• Information About your Company, i.e. your history such as how long you have been established and your experience.
• Privacy Policy - You may wish to reassure your customers that the details they provide over the internet or via any other means are not given to third parties etc.
